Alpine City Tree Standards
Our team worked with city administration to compile and create tree details that describe standard ways of planting to ensure proper growth. We researched and monitored current growth habit of different types of deciduous and evergreen trees to create a list for future development in the city.
Smooth Canyon Park
Since collaborating with the city on other projects, we were also contracted to redesign an outdated existing park for the community. The city wanted to have a space for people to get out of the sun with a play area for children and have it function properly with the rest of the park. This circular design was based upon a wheel for incorporating the new amenities, with the playground being the center and the picnic shelters being the spokes. Plantings were used to create separation from parking and soccer areas while adding beauty to the park.
Working closely with city staff, we improved city standards and outdated parks.
Lehi City Traverse Park
Being awarded the bid for the Lehi Park was a fun achievement for our office. The city wanted to create a functional space in this area but also incorporate more natural play elements into the design. We created a large grass area for elementary soccer fields and pathways around the site that lead to small play equipment along an adventure trail. This park was placed in an area that people could look out over the surrounding area and see for miles.
Natural play was the goal for the residents and patrons of the park and for the school nearby.
